Turning away from the ‘Drifter’

Song production has now played a role in the winding courses of the lives of both artists for 20 years now - a second CD, this time entirely produced by themselves - was handed in some time ago:  Songs  'n tunes. This time under the band name «Wonderlake» (again played on air in FM 4 accompanied by enthralled commentaries).

Why turn away from the ‘Drifter’?

A US band gathered around the former head of the Dream Syndicate, Steve Wynn, had styled themselves the ‘Continental Drifters’ without knowing about the Drifters from the foothills of the Alps. On the one hand, confirmation of the quality of the name, on the other also a bitter disappointment, as the Drifters over here did not have any legal means available to defend their name with. So it is now Wonderlake, as both confess to being fans of Ansel Adams, the great American photographer, who photographed Alaska's Wonder Lake with Mt. Mc Kinley reflected in a midsummer's night in the 1940s and thereby created an icon.

The Drifters live on Lake Constance, yet hidden away in the Bodanrück area, there is still a legacy in ice of the Middle Ice Age, Lake Mindelsee, the shape and size of which almost match that of Alaska's Wonder Lake. The awarding of the name thus led once again therefore to a shifting of the continents, at least symbolically.

The third CD (working title: «Executive» is currently being produced and is out now. Wonderlake have already released a modest short sound clip... The Drifters live on Lake Constance, yet hidden away in the Bodanrück area, there is still a legacy in ice of the Middle Ice Age,
